Friends of the Missouri Historic
Costume and Textile Collection

The Friends of the Missouri Historic Costume and Textile Collection is an association of persons interested in care, maintenance and development of the Collection, which was established in 1967 by Carolyn Wingo to support the teaching mission of the Department of Clothing and Textiles.  While the Collection continues to be used to prepare students for positions in every aspect of the apparel industry, the mission has expanded to provide sources for research and for outreach to the public through exhibitions, an Internet site and programs presented to a variety of organizations. 

Friends of the Collection enhance and maintain the Collection through solicitation of funds that help support exhibitions, acquisition, conservation and preservation.  Our most pressing need is to raise funds that will be used to remodel our new storage space and to fund an endowment to support a graduate student who will manage the day-to-day operations of the Collection.
