Bio

Dr. Jaime Mestres is an Assistant Teaching Professor and serves as the Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Textile and Apparel Management (TAM). Prior to this role, Dr. Mestres served as a Senior Academic Advisor and Instructor in TAM. Dr. Mestres has been with the program for over 15 years.

As the Director of Undergraduate Studies, she oversees the undergraduate curriculum, policies and procedures. She assists with external collaboration including articulation agreements, transfer equivalencies, and study abroad programs. Dr. Mestres represents TAM on the College of Arts and Science Curriculum, Instruction & Advising Committee and represents Arts and Science on the university Undergraduate Curriculum Committee.

Dr. Mestres enjoys mentoring students to help them reach their academic and career goals. She counsels and advises students academically regarding policies, campus resources, program of study, class schedules, enrollment, academic decisions, and post-graduation goals.

At the University of Missouri, Dr. Mestres has taught courses in a variety of areas, including professional development, social/cultural aspects of dress, e-commerce, branding, retailing, and consumer behavior. She currently teaches introduction to fashion retail strategies, social appearance in time and space, and moral and ethical issues in the global fashion supply chain.
