Kitty Dickerson Technology Classroom

The Kitty Dickerson Technology Classroom is state-of-the-art computer-based center that showcases equipment and software used in the sewn products industry. This lab is equipped with 24 CAD stations with numerous programs that are industry specific.

The lab is used to demonstrate manufacturing equipment as well as innovative manufacturing management concepts. This includes pattern making, grading, digitizing, marker making, and product data management. Dr. Kitty Dickerson is a former department chair of TAM. This lab is named in her honor and funded with gifts in 2010.

    • Optitex 2D/3D Computer-Aided Design software
      Optitex is 2D/3D pattern making software. Optitex Pattern Design System offers intuitive and powerful software tools designed to work with patterns at every step of production cycle. TAM students use OptiTex to create/manipulate garment patterns, conduct virtual garment fit, and grade patterns.
