TAM students learn in high-tech classrooms and laboratories with cutting-edge technology. The Kellwood Apparel Technology Lab, Kitty Dickerson Technology classroom, and Knipschild Design and Research Lab are equipped with the latest industry technology including CLO, a 3D fashion design and product development software, Structure Sensor by Occipital for 3D body scanning, a Mutoh Digital Printer, a Full Spectrum Laser PS48 Pro-Series CO2 Laser System, and other leading industry software. TAM faculty has a strong and growing research agenda in apparel product development and digital merchandising using latest technology. A variety of learning opportunities also exist within the department’s historic clothing and textile collection for students to engage with dress objects both in and out of the classroom.
