The University of Missouri’s Textile & Apparel Management department hosted a panel featuring industry experts discussing Sustainable Sourcing in the Global Fashion Industry. The webinar was hosted via Zoom on October 15th, 2020, and featured industry professionals Michelle Dando, Jeff Hux, Juan Zighelboim, and Mark Messura. From perspectives of local farmers’ in Missouri, oversea suppliers, and sourcing experts, these panelists offered their unique industry experiences working with cotton and/or sustainable practices. Attendee’s included a large number of MU students, faculty, and industry professionals from across the globe.
This event was funded through a grant awarded to Textile & Apparel Management professors Dr. Li Zhao and Dr. Kerri McBee-Black by Cotton Incorporated. It provides students with an opportunity to explore and understand cotton sourcing and cotton supply chain transparency.
